We are pleased to announce that they have been awarded further funding from the Scottish Government to help improve the energy efficiency of homes throughout the region. The Scottish Government has made this award as part of its Home Energy Efficiency Programme for Scotland – Area Based Schemes (HEEPS-ABS).

Insulation work has already been completed in Altens, Byron Avenue and Heathryfold, with the next phase covering the following streets in the Bucksburn area:

  • Wagley Parade
  • Wagley Place
  • Sunnybrae

Private householders in those streets may benefit from External Wall Insulation (depending on construction type) and work is subject to a technical survey to ascertain whether properties are of a suitable construction for the energy efficiency measures available.

What are the costs involved?
External wall insulation requires an owner contribution of £500 + 5% VAT for houses and £200 + 5% VAT for a bungalows, this represents less than 10% of the value of the works with the remainder being met by funding from the Scottish Government. In order to help with the owner contribution to install eligible energy efficiency measures, interest-free loans are available from the Scottish Government to homeowners.

Householders can call Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282 for further information and to express an interest.

Home Energy Scotland is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Energy Saving Trust.
